The situation is complicated. A blue stop sign on private property generally does not have the same status as a government-issued stop sign on a public road. Enforcement may depend on state and local laws. While you might not receive a standard traffic ticket, other consequences may still apply.
Private-property rules, for instance, may involve security enforcement, towing, restricted access, or liability after an accident. If you cause a collision after intentionally ignoring a clearly posted instruction to stop, the sign’s unusual color is unlikely to erase those consequences.
There
is also an interesting reason these signs can feel unsettling. Your brain has learned to associate red with STOP. When the word gives a familiar instruction but the color contradicts your expectations, it creates a small conflict between instinct and recognition.
